Liam Hemsworth transitioned to vegan diet five months ago!
Hemsworth became convinced about changing his lifestyle after learning about how a plant-based diet would improve his health and the lives of animals. He reported, “I couldn’t continue to eat meat. The more I was aware of, the harder and harder it was to do.” (2)
During a doctor visit six months ago after a blood-diet analysis, Hemsworth was told that red meat was good for him and he was encouraged to eat a lot more red meat. Hemsworth listened and increased his red meat consumption. He found that the more red meat he ate, the worse he felt!(2)
Following a blood-diet analysis, Hemsworth, was told to eat red meat; after doing so, he felt worse and made the vegan change!
After talking to his Hunger Games co-star, Woody Harrelson, he was inspired to try the vegan diet!(2)
Hemsworth has a lot of friends who are vegan. He knew after the way he was feeling, and with the information he had gathered, that he had to change his lifestyle.(2)
When discussing the vegan diet, Hemsworth shared, “There are no negatives to eating like this. I feel nothing but positive, mentally and physically. I love it. I feel like it also has a kind of a domino effect on the rest of my life.”(2)
For Hemsworth, it didn’t just stop with himself, he became such an advocate that he convinced his oldest brother, Chris Hemsworth (Thor!), to give the plant-based diet a try as well!(2)
“Chris is obviously extremely healthy and has played Thor and has had to work out a lot over the past few years,” he said of his big brother. “But he has a lot of digestive issues, and he’s constantly trying to figure out what’s best for his system. Through talking to me, he’s somewhat adapting, I think, to eating more vegetables and more plant-based stuff.”(2)
Do you, like Hemsworth, struggle with giving up cheese?
Hemsworth shares that he does not miss meat, but continues to have a weakness for cheese. “Every time I’d go to New York, one of my favorite things to do was to go and eat a bunch of pizza. I’ve had cheese pizza, like, once in the past four months. It was in New York, and it was in the first few weeks of being vegan. I was with some friends, and we’d had a couple of beers—you walk around and there’s pizza everywhere, and it’s like, ‘Ah, God, I’ve gotta have a slice!'” (2)
The good news for Hemsworth is that more and more companies are producing amazing vegan cheeses if you don’t want to make your own. If you, like Hemsworth, struggle to give up cheese, try making your own cheeses or consider purchasing artisan cheeses from vegan companies such as Miyoko’s Kitchen. Many vegan cheeses come with an ingredient list that is difficult to understand. Miyoko’s cheese has simple ingredients and raving reviews. Give it a shot if you miss a good pizza, mac n’ cheese, or cheese and crackers!(3)
