Berry Vanilla Smoothie to Help Bust Food Cravings!

This berry blast of a smoothie has an amazing color and is popping with flavor; it even has some impressive health benefits, too!  This Berry Vanilla Smoothie just may help you fight food cravings!  How?  Well, Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring plant estrogens found in blackberries, and research has found it may help to relieve the peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms such as food cravings. (1) It’s been said they may also help with the symptoms of PMS like bloating, and menopausal symptoms like hot flashes. (1)

This is a great smoothie for people who aren’t really into bananas.  As you can see, I didn’t use any bananas in the recipe.  By using the frozen berries, it seemed to thicken the smoothie all on its own.  I used Coconut Water here, but if you would like a creamier version, you can try it with Coconut Milk or another type of non-dairy milk of your choice.  Optional, but pictured here, is 1 scoop of Garden of Life’s Vanilla Organic Plant Protein.  You can also use their Raw Meal or another brand of your choice, too!

If you want to go a step further, try this as a smoothie bowl base and top with your favorite nuts, seeds, fruits, and other toppings!  What a wonderful way to start your day!


  • 1/4 C Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/4 C Frozen Raspberries
  • 1/4 C Frozen Strawberries
  • 1/4 C Frozen Blackberries
  • 3/4 to 1 C Coconut Water (or Coconut Milk for a creamier version)
  • Optional: 1 Scoop of Garden of Life’s Vanilla Organic Plant Protein Powder (or Raw Meal)


  1. Put all ingredients into a high speed blender.
